Job description
Working as HSE Manager on a project you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of project personnel, and other stakeholders, and additionally ensure the environmental compliance of our construction activities as per UAE regulations. Your responsibilities will encompass conducting site inspections, identifying hazards, implementing HSE policies and project requirements, and facilitating training programs to foster a strong safety culture to drive the improvement of HSE performance within Intermass. Additionally, you will actively contribute to risk assessments, incident investigations, and emergency response planning as necessary.
- Postgraduate qualification e.g. Masters
- 10+ years of experience within HSE with a contracting company, with a minimum of 6 years of UAE-based experience.
- Level 6 HSE qualification graduate in the relevant discipline is Mandatory
- Lead Auditor ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 Lead IMS Auditor is Mandatory
- Postgraduate qualification, e.g. Masters is an Advantage
- Familiar with EDMS tools, e.g., Aconex
- Establish & Implementation of Project HSSE Plan & strategies aligned with company policies, objectives, and management system by adopting industry best practices.
- Coordinate Identify and implement customer expectations as per contract.
- Collaborate and coordinate with IM HSE Department to implement effective HSSE policies and procedures as per requirements of the Intermass BMS.
- Stay updated on local, federal, and applicable international HSSE regulations, and identify potential impacts or requirements specific to the project.
- Ensure compliance with local, federal, and applicable international HSSE regulations on the project, and maintain a Legal Compliance Register.
- Mentor and support the HSSE staff within the project team to ensure growth potential of employees is identified and nurtured.
- Develop, implement, and monitor HSSE training programs for the project.
- Conduct HSSE awareness campaigns as per the business requirements, on the project and provide summary report to line manager. Update the project HSE plans, CEMPs, Emergency Response Plans, and others to confirm they address project requirements and are aligned with Intermass standards and policy.
- Conduct emergency drills for project and identify areas of improvement.
- Identify and implement project specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive HSSE performance improvements.
- Ensure that KPIs are a mix of leading and lagging indicators.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders, clients, and regulatory authorities on HSSE matters as required. Incident investigation and reporting: support the lead investigator for serious incidents (as per IM procedure); for non-major incidents, investigate, prepare reports, identify root causes, and issue reports as per Intermass procedure.
