  • Develop and steward the affiliate's decarbonisation roadmap, identifying and promoting carbon reduction, methane mitigation and emissions abatement opportunities across assets and projects.
  • Provide governance and oversight of environmental and social performance of contractors and key service providers, ensuring alignment with Company requirements and regulatory obligations.
  • Support project and asset teams in evaluating environmental impacts, GHG emissions, climate risks and decarbonisation opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, permits, regulatory commitments, PETRONAS requirements, Company Rules and applicable international standards.
  • Maintain effective environmental governance through implementation and continual improvement of the Environmental Management System, including ISO 14001 certification.
  • Oversee environmental permitting, environmental and social impact assessments (EIA/ESIA), environmental studies and regulatory approvals required to support business activities.
  • Lead the identification, assessment and management of environmental, climate and sustainability risks and opportunities, ensuring effective mitigation measures are implemented.
  • Steer environmental permitting and approvals to support exploration, development, production, asset life extension and decommissioning activities, ensuring timely compliance with Company and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain oversight of environmental performance programmes covering biodiversity, water stewardship, waste management, resource efficiency, pollution prevention and environmental monitoring.
  • Provide strategic advice to management on environmental, climate and emerging regulatory developments, ensuring the affiliate remains informed of key risks, obligations and opportunities.
  • Represent TEPMY with Headquarters, PETRONAS, regulatory authorities, joint venture partners, industry workgroups, conferences and external forums, while promoting environmental and climate awareness and fostering collaboration on sustainability and decarbonisation initiatives.
