JOB SUMMARYThe Benefits & Leave Specialist I manages standard leave cases and assigned benefits programs while developing advanced compliance and case management skills. This role owns day-to-day leave administration and supports benefits operations with moderate complexity. JOB DUTIES Independently manage standard leave requests including FMLA, PFML, PWFA, Military Leave, and personal LOAs Process disability paperwork (STD/LTD) and maintain accurate leave documentation Respond to state PFML correspondence including WA application and approval letters Track leave balances and ensure accurate reporting in Workday and vendor systems Answer employee questions regarding leave eligibility, documentation, and timelines Support ADA accommodation requests by gathering documentation and facilitating the interactive process under guidance Resolve routine employee benefits claim issues and plan questions Support open enrollment execution including audits, employee support, and vendor files Perform quality checks on benefits eligibility data Resolve escalated employee benefits claims and eligibility issues Provide reports for billing and allocation as assigned Support ACA data compilation and validation Assist with KPI metrics preparation Develop and maintain SOPs and process documentation Maintain assigned SharePoint documentation and case files Maintain organized case documentation and shared folders Meet established turnaround times for leave cases and employee responses Escalate only complex or unresolved issues QUALIFICATIONS 3–5 years benefits or leave administration experience. Working knowledge of FMLA and state leave programs. Experience with HRIS platforms (Workday preferred). Strong organizational and documentation skills.
