POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manufacturing Technician ensures the effective operation of production and facility assets.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Post-Secondary education in a related field
- 2 years\u2019 experience in a similar role
- Basic computer skills for parts research
- Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical and control principles
- Has or can obtain fork lift operators certificate
- Regular bending, twisting, and kneeling
- Able to lift 100lbs assisted
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for safe and reliable function of all production equipment, tools, and vehicles
- Implement total productive maintenance plan (TPM) to be carried out by staff throughout production
- Advise on process changes and associated work instructions/SOP\u2019s
- Creation of jigs, fixtures, and individual work cells with a focus on efficiency and setup reduction
- Promote and support \u20185S\u2019 standard throughout the plant
- Development and control of critical parts inventory
- General maintenance for local buildings/property and liaison with external contractors.
- Maintain proficiency of current product/material specifications
- Sets up and calibrates production equipment and tools to ensure effective operation and quality
- Supports production team as required, including operating equipment and routine housekeeping
- Participate in team huddles
- Other duties as assigned
