When exam season arrives, organisation and accuracy matter more than ever. An Outstanding secondary school in Romford is seeking an experienced Examinations Manager to take responsibility for the school's examinations function on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Exams Officer looking to step into a more senior position, taking ownership of the complete examinations cycle and working closely with senior leaders, teaching staff and external awarding bodies.

The Role

You'll lead the planning and administration of internal and external examinations, ensuring everything is delivered securely, accurately and in line with JCQ requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing examination entries, timetables and candidate arrangements

  • Overseeing the full examination cycle through to results and post-results services

  • Ensuring compliance with JCQ and awarding body regulations

  • Recruiting, training and managing examination invigilators

  • Coordinating access arrangements with the SEND team

  • Maintaining secure systems for examination papers and confidential information

  • Liaising with awarding bodies, senior leaders and teaching staff

  • Reviewing examination procedures and improving processes where appropriate
