Events Manager

Who we’re looking for
The Events Manager is responsible for the planning, management and delivery of a broad portfolio of client, investment-led, sponsorship and partnership events across Wealth Management and regional offices. The role will take ownership of events from concept through to execution and evaluation, ensuring that all events deliver against business objectives, provide an exceptional client experience, and support strategic business development goals.

The Events Manager will manage relationships with senior stakeholders, regional offices, venues and suppliers, providing expert guidance throughout the event planning process. The role requires strong project management skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment. Regular travel across the UK will be required.

The job holder has responsibility to pay due regard to the interests of our customers and treat them fairly, ensuring that the information provided to clients on services is clear and useful and enables them to understand fully what they are being offered. They are required to familiarise themselves fully with the team’s current procedures, FCA compliance requirements, and the principles behind ‘Conduct Risk’.

The base
This role will be based in our regional office in Manchester.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the planning, management and delivery of a diverse portfolio of client events, investment seminars, sponsorships, partnerships, hospitality programmes, hybrid and virtual events.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders across Wealth Management and regional offices, providing strategic event advice and consultation.
  • Develop event concepts and programmes aligned with business objectives, target audiences and brand strategy.
  • Manage event budgets, supplier negotiations and contract processes to ensure cost-effective delivery and value for money.
  • Oversee venue sourcing, contract negotiations, logistics planning and on-site event management.
  • Manage event communications in partnership with Marketing, including invitation strategy, attendee engagement and post-event follow-up.
  • Oversee registration, RSVP management and guest experience, ensuring a seamless and professional client journey.
  • Collaborate with Business Development teams to identify opportunities to maximise attendance, client engagement and commercial outcomes.
  • Manage relationships with venues, production agencies, caterers and other external suppliers to ensure high standards of delivery.
  • Lead post-event evaluation, reporting and ROI analysis, providing recommendations and insights to stakeholders.
  • Ensure all events are delivered in accordance with regulatory, compliance, risk management and health and safety requirements.
  • Maintain detailed event documentation, budgets, timelines and project plans.
  • Drive continuous improvement of event processes, systems and attendee experiences.
  • Support the development and implementation of the wider Wealth Management events strategy.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage digital, social and innovative event technologies to enhance engagement and measurement.
  • Provide guidance and support to more junior team members where appropriate.
  • Manage hospitality allocations and sponsorship activations, ensuring fair and effective distribution aligned to business priorities.
  • Ensure all events adhere to corporate brand guidelines and represent the organisation to the highest standard.
  • Undertake additional duties consistent with the responsibilities of an Events Manager role.


The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

  • Significant experience in event management, ideally within financial services, wealth management, professional services or luxury client-facing environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing events from concept through to execution and post-event evaluation.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
  • Experience managing budgets, supplier negotiations and contracts.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with confidence working with senior executives and business leaders.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of event ROI and business objectives.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, proactively and under pressure.
  • Professional, confident and client-focused approach.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and event management platforms.
