Apple is seeking a deeply technical expert in climate and environmental standards, someone who doesn't just track the frameworks that define global best practice, but helps refine them. The ideal candidate brings the subject matter expertise to hold their own in a room of scientists and policymakers, and the communication precision to represent Apple's positions with clarity and credibility. Apple's Environment & Supply Chain Innovation team is seeking an Environmental Standards Expert to represent Apple directly in the development and revision of leading climate standards — participating in ISO and IEC technical committees, as well as other industry-led efforts as they emerge.
The person in this seat will develop technically grounded positions on contested methodological questions, advocate for scientifically rigorous and implementable approaches, and translate external developments into actionable internal guidance. The primary focus is climate — GHG accounting, science-based target-setting, and net zero frameworks — with potential expansion to circularity and water. The role collaborates across Environmental Technologies, Facilities, Operations, Government Affairs, Finance, and Legal teams, and requires domestic and international travel to attend working group meetings.
