Job description

About Us

Quanta Power Solutions brings together the industry-leading capabilities and resources of Quanta's operating companies to deliver complete EPC solutions. Our integrated approach spans power generation, battery energy storage, renewables, transmission, substation, and underground infrastructure — from concept to commissioning, we execute complex power infrastructure projects with the speed, certainty, and operational excellence our customers depend on.

At Quanta Power Solutions, we are driven by a culture of safety, integrity, and disciplined execution — and we're building a team that shares that commitment.

About this Role

Quanta Power Solutions is seeking an experienced Engineering Scheduler to support the planning, scheduling, and execution of engineering and procurement activities across large and complex Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects. This role is part of the Project Controls organization and works closely with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Project Management, and other project functions to develop and maintain integrated project schedules.

The Engineering Scheduler will be responsible for developing, updating, and analyzing engineering schedules; monitoring progress against established baselines; identifying schedule risks and potential impacts; and ensuring engineering activities and deliverables are properly sequenced and aligned with overall project milestones. The ideal candidate understands how engineering activities drive downstream procurement and construction and can translate complex project requirements into clear, actionable schedules.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain detailed engineering schedules in alignment with the overall project schedule, contractual requirements, and project execution plans.
  • Develop engineering activities, logic, durations, milestones, and relationships within the project schedule.
  • Coordinate with engineering disciplines and procurement to establish realistic activity durations, sequencing, resource requirements, and deliverable dates that support construction and meet project goals.
  • Track engineering deliverables, design reviews, approvals, and other key engineering milestones.
  • Integrate engineering activities with procurement, construction, commissioning, and other project activities to identify and manage key interfaces and dependencies.
  • Maintain project schedule baselines and incorporate approved changes in accordance with established change management processes.
  • Perform regular schedule updates, incorporating actual progress, forecast dates, remaining durations, and changes in logic.
  • Analyze schedule performance, including critical path, near-critical activities, float, schedule variances, and potential delays.
  • Identify schedule risks and trends and communicate potential impacts to Project Controls and project leadership.
  • Work with engineering, procurement, and project teams to develop recovery plans and mitigation strategies for schedule delays.
  • Support engineering progress measurement and forecasting and ensure schedule progress accurately reflects project status.
  • Prepare schedule reports, dashboards, narratives, and other project controls deliverables for project and management reviews.
  • Monitor engineering resource loading and identify potential resource constraints that could affect project milestones.
  • Support development of project schedules during project planning, estimating, and execution phases.
  • Participate in schedule reviews with project stakeholders and facilitate alignment on engineering priorities, milestones, and forecast dates.
  • Maintain accurate and timely schedule data in accordance with Project Controls procedures and standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve scheduling processes, tools, and reporting across the Project Controls organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to travel to job sites and satellite locations as needed.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Controls, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in project scheduling, project controls, or a related field.
  • Experience developing and maintaining CPM schedules for engineering, construction, or EPC projects.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6.
  • Working knowledge of engineering deliverables, project execution processes, and engineering-to-procurement-to-construction interfaces.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex project information and communicate schedule status, risks, and impacts clearly.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work effectively with engineering, project management, procurement, construction, and other cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting large-scale EPC, power generation, industrial, infrastructure, or energy projects.
  • Experience developing engineering schedules from project WBS and engineering deliverables.
  • Experience with resource-loaded schedules and resource forecasting.
  • Experience with schedule risk analysis, recovery scheduling, and schedule mitigation.
  • Knowledge of earned value management (EVM) and engineering progress measurement.
  • Experience integrating cost and schedule data within a project controls environment.
  • Experience with Power BI or other project controls reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with engineering document management and project collaboration systems.

Skills & Competencies

  • Project Scheduling: Strong understanding of CPM scheduling, schedule logic, critical path, float, baselines, and forecasting.
  • Engineering Coordination: Ability to understand engineering workflows, deliverables, dependencies, and interfaces without necessarily performing engineering design.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to identify trends, assess schedule impacts, and develop practical solutions.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate complex schedule information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Effective at building relationships across Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, Construction, and Project Controls.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintains accurate schedule data and recognizes inconsistencies or potential issues before they affect project performance.
  • Organization: Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Continuous Improvement: Seeks opportunities to improve scheduling processes, standards, tools, and reporting.

What You'll Get

  • Competitive Compensation
  • Weekly Pay
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan
  • Holiday Pay
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Comprehensive Health Coverage
  • Pet Insurance
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
