The Mechanical Engineer supports new product development and product sustaining tasks. The Mechanical Engineer acts as a technical resource between internal groups, such as marketing, product management, application engineering, customer technical support and manufacturing. The Mechanical Engineer provides direct daily support to engineering groups by focusing on 3D Modeling, component design, prototype fabrication and other mechanical-related tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and development for mechanical and/or electromechanical devices or structures, from concept to fully functional design in different project stages
Create 3D models, assemblies, technical drawings/ documentation
Support prototype and testing activities
Creation, reviewing, and systems-entry of new product specifications, ECNs, tests, procedures, user manuals, submittal drawings and sales literature
Understands the product, suggesting ideas and improvements back to group
Provides technical support to internal Vertiv functions - marketing, sales, application engineering, customer technical support and service and manufacturing during the different stages of product development
QUALIFICATIONS
3-5 years of Product Development engineering experience
Sheetmetal design/manufacture experience
Applied knowledge of mechanical concepts, products, safety and test methods
Ability to follow testing and instructional procedures
Applied knowledge of CAD Software, CREO Parametric preferred
Knowledge in Model Based Definition (MDB) preferred
Troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve (and prevent) a wide range of problems quickly and logically.
Good planning, organizing, documentation, and communication skills.
Ability to multitask and operate in cross functional Global Development Teams.
Ability to work independently and as part of a Team.
