Job description
The Cloud Migration Project Manager works closely with IT modernization consultants, cloud solution architects and cloud engineers in translating client IT strategic goals, roadmaps, and business requirements into future state architectures designed to leverage the cutting-edge functionality delivered through commercial and private cloud service providers. The Cloud Migration Project Manager will understand the adoption challenges in migrating on-prem application portfolios and will be able to bridge the gaps during the migration strategy design process.The ideal candidate will have an established background in traditional hosted, or outsourced, transition projects for n-tier enterprise architectures. He/she will be able to direct project managers and technical resources, and will have experience using project management tools (e.g., MS Project, MS Visio), templates and processes to manage the delivery of cloud migration program/projects.Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:Strategy & SolutionDeliver cloud migration strategies leveraging mass migration technology and methodologies for hosted, or outsourced, architectures with full understanding of the underlying infrastructure services and technologiesDesign migration strategies that incorporate client-specific approaches driven by business and technical requirementsDesign migration strategies, taking into consideration client business and technical roadmaps, data migration approaches, training and hand-off activities required to cutover and normalize operations activitiesParticipate in pre-sales and business development efforts, providing writing support for proposals and presentation decks.Migration DeliveryDirect the implementation and configuration of migration tools from demo and pilot efforts to full-scale enterprise-level phased migrationsDeliver migrations within schedule, scope and budget as designed in the migration strategiesCreate best practice detailed migration plans utilizing work breakdown structure to establish critical path, agreed-upon milestones/deliverables, and resource plans according to the cloud migration strategyNaturally drive transparency into the communication channel from engineers to executivesPrepare executive reports and present to Senior Management (both client and internal)Lead identification of risks, actions, and issues through proactive communication and collaboration with stakeholders and various teamsLead rapid migration approaches for cloud-based solutions utilizing agile project management approachesLead Steady State Hand-Off activities utilizing previous experience in service delivery management of operations support for hosted applications.Resource ManagementEstablish critical client and internal relations to navigate opposition to change using emotional intelligence and superb proactive communication skillsEstablish accountability for all key members delivering to milestones and deliverablesLead and evaluate project managers and other staff.Requirements10+ years of experience in IT5+ years of recent experience in Cloud IT transition, transformation, and migration management, preferably with mass migrations technologyExperience working with CMMI/Dev 3 processesProject Management CertificationExcellent written and oral communication skillsExcellent problem-solving skillsExcellent knowledge of MS Office toolsAbility to work effectively with all levels of management and staff.Preferred (but not required) SkillsExperience with using ISO9000 processesAgile Project Management experience (e.g., Jira/Confluence)AWS/MS Azure CertificationsCloud ManagementBenefitsWe do not unfairly discriminate on any ground, including race, caste, religion, color, ancestry, marital status, gender, sexual orientation, age, nationality, ethnic origin, disability or any other category protected by applicable law.Competitive SalaryBetter GrowthWork Life Balance
