Key Responsibilities1. Construction Contracting & Project AgreementsAssist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating construction-related contracts, including EPC, design-build, supply, and subcontracting agreements.Support contract negotiations with contractors, suppliers, and engineering firms.Ensure construction contracts incorporate risk mitigation strategies, performance guarantees, and dispute resolution mechanisms.Monitor contract execution, variations, claims, and enforcement to protect company interests.Adapt to and apply relevant industry-standard contracts (FIDIC or others), as required.2. Regulatory Compliance & Construction ApprovalsAssist in obtaining construction permits, environmental approvals, and land-use permissions in compliance with Omani regulations.Ensure compliance with local building codes, zoning laws, health and safety regulations, and environmental impact requirements.Support regulatory interactions with municipal authorities, the Ministry of Housing & Urban Planning, and other government bodies overseeing construction activities.Maintain and update regulatory records, approvals, and compliance filings.3. Risk Management & Dispute ResolutionSupport the management of construction-related disputes, including contract enforcement, delays, and claims.Assist in handling regulatory challenges, non-compliance issues, and contractor obligations.Work with external counsel and consultants on litigation, arbitration, or mediation, if required.RequirementsQualifications -Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Law, or other related field.Experience: 3–5 years in construction law, project contracting, or regulatory compliance, preferably in a corporate legal department or law firm handling construction-related legal matters.Legal Admission: Qualification to practice in Oman. Legal experience in other GCC jurisdictions is a plus.Expertise in:Construction project contracting, EPC agreements, and project execution frameworks.Regulatory compliance for construction, including permitting, approvals, and safety regulations.Building codes, zoning laws, and environmental regulations applicable in Oman.Language Skills: Excellent communication skills in English required; Arabic proficiency preferred.Soft Skills:Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to work collaboratively within a legal team and support company-wide initiatives.High level of confidentiality and professional ethics.
