ExpiredVerified Jul 1, 2026

Job description

Start Date:September 2026

Contract:Full-time, Permanent

Salary:Paid to scale (with potential TLR for a candidate with leadership experience)

The Role

A premier, high-achieving Secondary Academy in Bristol is seeking a professional, highly analytical, and exceptionally organised Computer Science Teacher to join their expanding STEM faculty. This role represents a brilliant opportunity to champion digital literacy and advanced computing skills within a heavily resourced department featuring modern network laboratories, dedicated programming suites, and hardware prototyping tools.

The successful candidate will provide day-to-day instructional leadership across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. The timetable will involve delivering a rich, challenging curriculum covering software development architecture, computational logic, algorithm design, and network systems at A-Level, alongside data representation, cyber security frameworks, and software programming at GCSE. Beyond classroom teaching, responsibilities include constructing comprehensive student tracking portfolios, implementing targeted technical intervention tracks for code fluency, managing parental correspondence, and actively leading the school’s competitive coding clubs, robotics leagues, and regional hackathons.

You will act as a primary link with parents, examination boards, and local technology networks, requiring absolute professionalism and data accuracy at all times. Strong organisational skills are a prerequisite, as you will balance heavy mock diagnostic marking cycles with real-time digital progress logging and practical code debugging cycles within a busy secondary school framework. The academy welcomes applications from proactive, reliable professionals who can deconstruct complex programming syntax (such as Python, Java, orVB.NET) and computer architecture into crisp, engaging, and high-impact lessons.

School Information

This is an 11 to 18 well-established Academy in Bristol with a powerful commitment to technical innovation, academic rigor, and student wellbeing. The school serves an ambitious, vibrant city community and is known for its modern learning environments and state-of-the-art STEM resources.

Students are respectful, highly motivated, and analytical, creating a calm and purposeful learning environment across all key stages. Staff benefit from an open, collaborative professional culture, highly visible leadership, a manageable administrative load, and an excellent framework for targeted career progression and specialized training.
