This is not an operations role. This isplatform‑level engineeringwith real impact: designing reusable cloud building blocks, shaping engineering standards, and helping teams succeed in the cloud.

About the role
As part of our Public Cloud Engineering team, you’ll:
- Design and evolve reusable cloud foundations
Build and maintain high‑qualityTerraform‑based infrastructure templatesthat enable application teams to deploy cloud infrastructure securely and compliantly—without slowing them down. - Enable modern delivery through automation
Create and improveAzure DevOps CI/CD pipelines (YAML)aligned with Swiss Re’s DevSecOps standards, making cloud delivery repeatable and scalable. - Show what “good” looks like
Maintain a curated set ofend‑to‑end, real‑world examplesdemonstrating layered IaC, best practices, and production‑ready cloud solutions. - Influence the platform roadmap
Evaluate new cloud services, runproofs of concept, and partner with Cloud Platform and Cloud Security teams to turn new capabilities into shared services. - Support real application modernization
Work directly with application teams to help redesign, modernize, and migrate workloads—contributing hands‑on engineering expertise when it matters most. - Shape cloud architecture decisions
Participate in theCloud Architecture Forum, presenting technical topics, influencing architecture directions, and documenting engineering decisions that scale.

About you
We’d be happy to meet you if you have:
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ yearsof hands‑on experience in cloud engineering, software engineering, or architecture
- Strong experience withAzureandcloud‑native architectures, with curiosity to explore new services
- Proven hands‑on skills inTerraform,Azure DevOps, and modern CI/CD practices
- Experience withcontainers(Docker) and platforms such asKubernetes, PaaS, or serverless
- A solid understanding ofcloud security, including network and application security and Azure Policies
- A passion for buildingreusable, high‑quality engineering solutionsused by other teams
- Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to guide and influence engineers
- A collaborative mindset and comfort working in complex, transformational environments

For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between EUR 2,800 and EUR 4,600 per month (for a full-time role).
The specific salary offered considers:
-the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
-the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance-based variable compensation component, designed to recognise your achievements. Further you will enjoy a variety of global and location specific benefits.Eligibility may vary depending on the terms of Swiss Re policies and your employment contract.
