Description Position OverviewAt Heavy, we deliver complex, large-scale architectural and artistic projects through a highly integrated production environment. Our Carpentry team plays a critical role in transforming digital designs and fabricated components into finished, high-quality assemblies.As a Carpenter, you will execute custom builds while working closely with Digital Fabrication, CNC/Milling, and GFRC teams to ensure seamless project flow from concept to installation.Core ResponsibilitiesProject ExecutionInterpret shop drawings and digital production packagesFabricate and assemble custom components and assembliesBuild one-off pieces across a variety of materials and finishesConstruct jigs, templates, and custom formworkExecute work to defined tolerances and quality standardsSupport installation locally and internationally as requiredCross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with CNC/Milling team to ensure machined components meet assembly requirementsCollaborate with Digital Fabrication on drawing clarity, constructability, and revisionsSupport GFRC team with mold/formwork fabricationIdentify and communicate upstream/downstream production issues earlyContribute to improving overall shop workflow and efficiencyQuality & ProductionInspect materials and completed work against specificationsMaintain high craftsmanship standards across all deliverablesTrack progress against production schedules and targetsProactively identify risks to timelines or qualityShop OperationsMaintain tools, equipment, and workstationsBuild and maintain reusable jigs/templates for production efficiencyEnsure clean, organized, and safe work areasLeadership Responsibilities (as required)Lead small teams or project scopesAssign daily tasks and monitor progressMentor junior team membersProvide feedback on production processes and improvementsSafety ResponsibilitiesFollow all company safety policies and proceduresParticipate in safety training, audits, and hazard identificationDevelop and execute lift plans where requiredMaintain compliance with OH&S regulationsHourly rate: $28-$32 Requirements 5+ years in carpentry, fabrication, or custom build environmentsStrong ability to interpret shop drawings and production documentationExperience with custom joinery, formwork, or architectural buildsProficiency with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipmentUnderstanding of CNC-produced components and tolerancesDescription Position OverviewAt Heavy, we deliver complex, large-scale architectural and artistic projects through a highly integrated production environment.
