Business Development Manager – U.S. Government SalesEastern or Central Time Zone – RemoteComp based on exp and skillset SummaryOur client, a defense and tactical gear manufacturer, is hiring a BDM to own and grow their U.S. Government sales channel. You'll build the pipeline, navigate government contracting vehicles, and close business with military, federal, and law enforcement customers.Requirements3+ years of sales, business development, or account management experience, specifically within the defense, tactical, military, or government contracting marketPrior military service highly preferredWorking knowledge of U.S. Government procurement and contracting processesHands-on experience with government contracting vehicles such as GSA Schedule, DLA Prime Vendor, IDIQs, or Programs of RecordTrack record of hitting or exceeding sales and revenue targetsWillingness to travel domestically as neededMust be a U.S. citizen or permanent residentBased in and working Eastern or Central time zone ResponsibilitiesBuild and execute the company's U.S. Government sales and business development strategyIdentify, develop, and close opportunities with military, federal government, and law enforcement customersBuild and maintain relationships with procurement officers, end users, program stakeholders, and other key decision-makersBuild a strong government sales pipeline and proactively source new opportunitiesNavigate government procurement processes and contracting vehicles, including GSA Schedules, DLA Prime Vendor, IDIQs, and Programs of RecordTrack and pursue RFPs, RFQs, and other solicitation opportunitiesLead responses to government bids and proposalsNegotiate pricing, terms, and contracts in line with government compliance requirementsMonitor procurement trends, budgets, and upcoming opportunities across the defense marketRepresent the company at industry events, trade shows, and government engagementsPartner with internal teams to translate customer needs and market insight into commercial opportunities
