Audit Director/Partner

The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Audit Partner / Director to lead and grow our audit practice, with a strong focus on public-listed company and PIE audit engagements. This is a senior leadership role offering equity partnership potential for the right candidate.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage statutory audits for listed companies, PIEs, and large private groups, ensuring full compliance with approved standards on auditing (ISA/ISAs as adopted in Malaysia) and AOB requirementsAct as Engagement Partner / Signing Partner for audit engagements requiring AOB-registered auditor sign-offMaintain and strengthen relationships with audit committees, boards, and senior client managementDrive business development, including client retention and new engagement wins (IPO audits, due diligence, special assignments)Oversee audit quality control, ensuring adherence to the firm's system of quality management (ISQM 1) and AOB inspection standardsMentor, train and develop audit managers and staff, building bench strength for listed-company engagementsLiaise with regulators including the AOB, Bursa Malaysia, and Securities Commission Malaysia as requiredContribute to firm strategy, practice growth, and (where applicable) equity partnership mattersRequirementsRegistered with the Audit Oversight Board (AOB) as an approved auditor/company auditor — mandatory, or eligible and actively pursuing AOB registrationRecognized professional qualification: Chartered Accountant (MIA), ACCA, CPA Australia, ICAEW, or equivalentMinimum 10–15 years of audit experience, including significant exposure to listed company and PIE auditsPrior experience at a Big Four, mid-tier, or AOB-registered firm strongly preferredStrong technical knowledge of MFRS/IFRS, ISA, and Bursa Malaysia Listing RequirementsProven track record in engagement leadership, client relationship management, and team developmentExisting client portfolio or business development track record is an advantageExcellent command of English; Mandarin/Bahasa Malaysia an advantage for local client base
