Be the person who helps students stay engaged, supported and ready to succeed. An Outstanding secondary school in Dunstable is looking to appoint a committed Attendance Officer to join its experienced pastoral team on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2026.

The Role

As Attendance Officer, you'll manage the school's attendance systems while providing proactive support to students and families.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring attendance and punctuality across the school

  • Following up on unexplained absences with parents and carers

  • Identifying attendance trends and supporting targeted interventions

  • Producing regular attendance reports for senior leaders

  • Maintaining accurate pupil records using the school's MIS

  • Working alongside pastoral and safeguarding teams to support vulnerable students

  • Liaising with external agencies where appropriate to improve attendance outcomes

About You
