We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Software Engineering.

Principal responsibilities:

Design, develop and maintain applications using Java, Python or Rust.

Analyse and optimise existing ETL pipelines to enhance performance, reliability and maintainability.

Design and implement end-to-end, microservices-based reporting solutions, including:

Extracting and augmenting data from external sources, including Oracle, PostgreSQL, Kafka, MQ, Pub/Sub, Solace, FTP and NAS.

Performing complex data transformations, processing and enrichment.

Delivering data to downstream systems through real-time messaging platforms, SFTP, NAS or databases such as Oracle and PostgreSQL.

Develop, enhance and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes and Ansible.

Drive improvements in code quality, scalability and workload resilience to reduce recurring maintenance costs and support future business growth.

Work closely with business analysts, project managers, architects and production support teams across regions to ensure technical alignment, operational stability and user satisfaction.

Ensure that solutions comply with internal controls and applicable external regulatory requirements.

Maintain a strong understanding of business processes, system capabilities and emerging technologies.

Coordinate delivery and technical activities across multiple regions.

Knowledge & Experience/Qualifications:

Proven experience designing and developing multi-tier, microservices-based applications.

Strong expertise in Java, including Streams, Lambdas, Optional, functional interfaces and annotations.

Practical experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including Oracle, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, MongoDB and Redis.

Strong knowledge of messaging technologies, including Kafka, Redis Pub/Sub, JMS, Solace, MQ and Google Pub/Sub.

Solid DevOps and CI/CD experience with Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes and Ansible.

Familiarity with cloud platforms; experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is preferred.

Experience in high-performance computing.

Experience using JIRA, Confluence and other Atlassian tools.

Experience with at least one testing framework, such as JUnit, TestNG, Mockito, WireMock, Pytest or Unittest.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to support business analysis activities when required.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with a clear sense of ownership throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced, highly technical environment.

Demonstrated willingness to take on leadership responsibilities.

Good written and spoken English skills.

What additional skills will be good to have?

Experience working in Fixed Income, with knowledge of Rates and Credit products, including bonds, interest rate swaps (IRS) and credit default swaps (CDS).

Experience with the pricing and/or risk management of financial products.

Relevant certifications in Java, cloud computing or DevOps technologies.
