Job description

As a Technology Entrepreneur – Textile Integration, you will be required to:

  • Identify and frame opportunities by spotting gaps, inefficiencies, or unmet needs in existing textile/material offerings, and shape them into clear, actionable concepts

  • Drive material innovation and new product development from the ground up, exploring novel fibers, yarns, blends, and finishes

  • Translate consumer insights and brand briefs into concrete material concepts, balancing functionality, aesthetics, and cost

  • Build and test prototypes, running structured trials to validate performance, feel, durability, and manufacturability

  • Continuously scout new yarns, knit/weave structures, technologies, and processing techniques to expand the innovation toolkit

  • Challenge conventional product norms — push beyond current specifications to create genuinely novel material propositions

  • Develop a portfolio of differentiated materials that stand apart in the market and support brand storytelling

  • Own the full innovation lifecycle: ideation → prototyping → validation → handoff for scale-up, ensuring learnings are captured at each stage

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, sourcing, manufacturing, and commercial teams to ensure innovations are viable and market-ready

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering or Textile Technology is preferred, however a degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, or Materials Engineering, paired with substantial hands-on textile/knitting experience

  • Additional certifications or coursework in Knitting Technology, Textile Design, Product Development, or Innovation Management will be considered a strong advantage

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience

  • Proven track record of concept-building — turning a problem or market opportunity into a tangible material or product concept

  • Strong, hands-on technical knowledge of knitting (structures, machinery, and processes)

  • Curious, experimental mindset with a bias toward hands-on trial-and-error

  • Strong technical grounding combined with commercial and consumer awareness

  • Ability to work independently in ambiguous, less-defined problem spaces

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work across design, technical, and business teams
