App Dev & Support Engineer III

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Edifecs Developer to design, develop, and support healthcare EDI solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Edifecs tools and a solid understanding of healthcare EDI transactions and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain EDI mappings using Edifecs SpecBuilder and MapBuilder
• Work on healthcare EDI transactions such as 837 (P/I/D), 835, 270/271, 276/277, 277CA, 834, 820, PACDR
• Develop and manage Guidelines, Profiles, and Protocols
• Configure and support Edifecs EAM / XEngine for batch and real-time processing
• Perform EDI validation, error handling, and troubleshooting
• Work closely with business analysts and healthcare SMEs to understand requirements
• Support production issues, root cause analysis, and defect fixes
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, X12 5010, and other regulatory standards
• Participate in testing, deployment, and post-production support activities
• Document technical designs and operational procedures

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience with Edifecs tools
• Strong knowledge of healthcare EDI standards (X12, HIPAA)
• Experience with SpecBuilder, MapBuilder, XEngine
• Hands-on experience in EDI validations, acknowledgments (999, 277CA)
• Experience with batch processing and real-time EDI flows
• Good understanding of healthcare domain concepts (claims, eligibility, payments)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and stakeholder interaction skills

Good to Have

• Experience with Edifecs EAM, Encounter Management
• Exposure to cloud deployments (AWS/Azure)
• Knowledge of SQL and database tracking
• Experience with production support and on-call rotations
• Understanding of payer/provider workflows

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
