What You\u2019ll Do:\u00A0
- Evaluate and underwrite mortgage loans for compliance with agency, investor, and internal guidelines\u00A0
- Review credit, income, assets, tax returns, appraisals, title, insurance, fraud tools \u2014 and deliver clear, accurate credit decisions\u00A0
- Document precise income and asset calculations and articulate well\u2011supported approval rationale\u00A0
- Issue conditions and final decisions within established SLAs\u00A0
- Review and clear conditions with accuracy and urgency\u00A0
- Support pre\u2011funding audits, investor audits, and review\u2011desk inquiries\u00A0
- Partner with Loan Officers, Processors, and Closers to ensure smooth, timely closings\u00A0
- Stay current on guideline updates, regulatory changes, and industry best practices\u00A0
- Contribute to QC reviews and continuous improvement across the department
What You\u2019ll Need:
- 5+ years current/recent frontline mortgage underwriting experience\u00A0
- DE and/or SAR certifications preferred
- Deep knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and Jumbo guidelines
- Proficiency in LOS/AUS platforms (Encompass, DU, LPA)
- Strong analytical, credit, and risk assessment skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to stay sharp in a high volume environment
- A proactive, solutions focused mindset with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- High-speed internet required for remote work, Cable or Fiber ONLY with the ability to connect via Ethernet. Minimum speeds: 70/30 Mbps (basic), 200-300/35-70 Mbps (shared), 500-1,000/100+ Mbps (heavy use).
