AI Engineering Intern

**About the role** We’re looking for **one AI Engineering Intern** to help us build AI systems end-to-end for one of the most complex workflows in European healthcare: procurement. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role for candidates with high agency. At SANOVIO, you will collaborate closely with a small, high-performing team and gain real-world experience building AI-enabled applications in a cross-border B2B environment. If you're excited about software engineering and AI, this is your opportunity to learn fast, experiment, ship real features, and see your work used in production. ## Tasks * Work across the full stack to build AI agents and AI-enabled workflows end-to-end * Improve search and matching quality for products, suppliers, and documents * Build evaluations to measure quality and iterate quickly * Build data pipelines to process large-scale unstructured data efficiently * Improve reliability of AI workflows through structured outputs, tool calling, and guardrails * Support backend improvements to keep systems scalable, stable, and efficient ## Requirements * High agency and a builder mindset, you iterate quickly and get things done * Experience or strong interest in NLP, LLMs, embeddings, ML, and AI-powered applications * First experience with full-stack development, ideally TypeScript and Python, plus React or Next.js * Strong problem-solving capabilities and willingness to learn new technologies fast * You’re excited to strive for excellence and build software in a fast-paced startup environment * You want to work in-person in Munich with more intensity than in a traditional 9–5 role ## Benefits * Great central office in Munich with regular team events and dinners * Monthly wellness budget * Access to any AI or productivity tools you need to do your best work * International scope and real-world operational impact with a return offer chance * Flexible work setup with time-zone responsibility **About the interview process** **Step 1: Intro call** Casual intro meeting with one of the founders to get to know each other and introduce SANOVIO. **Step 2: Technical interview** A take-home technical challenge to showcase your skills, followed by a call to walk us through your approach, insights, and solution for the take-home exercise. **Step 3: Personal Fit** Meet another co-founder to get a feel for our culture and working style. **Step 4: Offer** If we see a great fit, you will get an offer, including a competitive compensation package. **_You know someone great?_** **_Introduce them to us_** **_and get up to €500 in referral bonuses if we hire them!_**
